Metropolis

After the great success that was Nosferatu at Haloween, Phil again arranged a visit to the town hall to see a silent film. This time it was Fritz Lang’s 1927 classic Metropolis, again accompanied by Nigel Ogden’s improvised organ. One of the most influential films of the first half of the 20th Century, it really did stand up to the quality of modern cinema, pretty impressive for a movie over eighty years old.
